Okavango Bushman Safaris is a locally owned and operated safari company based in Maun, the gateway to the magnificent Okavango Delta in Botswana. Founded with a deep passion for the wilderness and a strong commitment to authentic cultural experiences, we specialize in blending world-class wildlife safaris with genuine interactions with the San (Bushman) people—one of the oldest cultures on Earth.

Our roots are firmly planted in Botswana’s wild landscapes. As a Maun-based team of experienced guides, trackers, and local experts, many of whom come from or work closely with San/Bushman communities, we offer intimate, off-the-beaten-path adventures that go beyond the ordinary. We believe the true spirit of a Botswana safari lies not only in spotting the Big Five, but in understanding the land, its animals, and the ancient knowledge of the people who have lived in harmony with it for thousands of years.

We design mobile and semi-mobile safaris that cover Botswana's most iconic and diverse regions, including:

Our Philosophy

At Okavango Bushman Safaris, sustainability and community benefit are at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with local San communities, employing Bushman trackers and guides wherever possible, and ensure that tourism directly supports conservation and local livelihoods. Our small-group safaris (maximum 8–12 guests) minimize environmental impact while maximizing your personal connection to the bush.
